Javelin throw is a track and field athletics and is a throwing event where the players use a javelin or a spear that is about 2.5 meters in length and weighs 800 grams. The javelin has three main parts: a metal head, a solid or hollow shaft and a cord grip. Several rules apply and there is a specified throwing area called the runway which is between 30-36.5 meters. To complete the throw legally, the javelin\’s metal tip must break the ground. It is a highly technical competition that observance of the rules are as important as the javelin throwing itself along the multiple sub-skills that make for the javelin\’s longest flight possible.

This is something that I would like to try. I wish I knew where I could just find a javelin!

I read from somewhere that throwing a javelin is not that easy. Even though the javelin itself is lighter compared to a huge steel ball, hammer or discuss thrown at a certain target, there are several factors that affect how a javelin is thrown like the wind direction and force. When throwing a javelin there are lots of little factors that would have to be considered to lengthen its flight.
